Being a Peter Taylor Fellow at the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop has been an incredible experience. Working with David Baker, and seeing how much energy and rigor he brings to each craft conversation, has been inspiring for me as a teacher and a writer. Here, the workshop space is a lively, supportive, creative community. We’ve all been generating new poems together, and the feedback I’ve received on my new work is invaluable. Coming to the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop to write a new poem every day is a special experience: I’ve found that the work I’ve written here, and the poetry I’ve read by my peers in workshop, has taken risks in new ways. It’s wonderful to see that happen—and to be part of a group of poets who are all hitting breakthroughs together. The Kenyon Review Writers Workshop is the place to come to be challenged, to write your heart out, and to meet a wonderful community of people. When you’re here, you’ll read new work in a performance space on the beautiful Kenyon College campus to an audience that is all warmth and enthusiasm! I can’t recommend this program highly enough, and I’m so thankful and grateful for my time here in this special place.
