Young Writers Application

Application & Important Information

Application materials should be emailed, faxed, or postmarked no later than March 1st, 2012.

June 24 – July 7, 2012 and July 15-28, 2012

Eligibility
The program is open to motivated and socially mature students between the ages of sixteen and eighteen. Because of the large number of applications, admission is highly selective. It is based primarily on the student’s application essay and a teacher’s recommendation. Note: People with medical problems should notify The Kenyon Review of any conditions prior to the start of the program.

Tuition and financial aid
Young Writers is a two-week residential program. The total cost, including tuition, accommodations, all meals, and activities, is $2,275. Kenyon is committed to socioeconomic diversity, and some financial aid is available for students who demonstrate financial need as part of their application. Various foundations and patrons provide annual scholarship support for participants in need.

Accommodations
Participants live in residential halls of Kenyon College. Boys will stay on one corridor, and girls on another, and most rooms are doubles. Careful supervision is provided by the director, staff, and residential assistants.

A teacher’s letter of recommendation and a high school transcript must be mailed to us by March 1, 2012 to complete your application. If you are applying for need-based financial assistance, please have a parent or guardian complete and mail the scholarship application form by March 1, 2012. We will send email confirmation when your file is complete.
