The Kenyon Review invites applications for its Kenyon Review Associates Program.
Selected students will be given an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in literary editing, publishing and marketing. Participants will work directly with KR professional staff and benefit from special literary, cultural and professional opportunities.
The Review Associates are considered adjunct members of the KenyonReview staff and upon successful completion of the program will be presented certificates of participation. Student coordinators will assist in the administration of the program.
The program is made possible through an initiative of the Kenyon Review, part of the mission of which is to contribute to the enrichment of the academic, cultural and artistic life of the College community.

Expert Briefing Programs
Kenyon Review staff and outside experts will conduct a series of formal briefings and colloquia for the Review Associates covering such subjects as:
- Editorial Philosophy
- Acquisitions
- Processing
- Copy Editing
- Production
- Marketing
- Fulfillment
- Funding
- Design
Hands-On-Experience
Student Associates will work closely with the KR staff and Senior Review Associates gaining hands-on-experience in a number of editing and publishing areas. Areas of involvement include:
- manuscript processing
- publication operations
- advertising sales
- marketing (internal and external)
- fulfillment(what it is and why it is important)
- web site development
- grants (how to secure and administer them)
- special events
Associates-Driven Information Sessions
KR Associates will have an opportunity to share experiences and ideas with their colleagues and to explore topics of their choosing with the professional staff.

Eligibility:
All Kenyon students are invited to apply. Applicants should submit a brief letter of introduction stating that they wish to be a part of the program. They may also submit a brief letter of recommendation from faculty or other appropriate persons. Finalists may be interviewed.
The students will be selected through a competitive process. A commitment of two or three hours a week to program activities will be required as well as participation in at least one of the projects conducted by The Kenyon Review.
Selection criteria include dependability, initiative, responsibility and ordinary workplace skills (telephone, computer, etc.). Preference will be given to creative writing students and those considering careers in journalism or publishing. The Kenyon Review encourages diversity of thought and background in program participants.
