A Verse Digest of P. T. Barnum’s The Art of Money Getting (1880)
============
DON’T BLAB
men have a foolish habit
telling their secrets
they make money
they tell their neighbors
nothing is gained
ofttimes much is lost
profits, hopes, expectations, intentions
this should apply to letters
as well as conversation
never write a letter
nor destroy one
if you are losing money
be specially cautious
and not tell of it
or you will lose
your reputation
